Role & Key Responsibilities
- To accurately process accounting records and prepare financial statements and management accounts in accordance with the designated accounting framework(s)
- Responsible for a portfolio of clients
- Preparation of periodic management accounts and annual financial statements;
- Prepare IFRS accounts, management accounts or financial statements in accordance with international accounting principles and standards;
- Consolidation of Accounts;
- Assist the Head of Accounting and other members of management team, providing daily support as requested
- Preparation & filing of all tax returns (annual, APS, VAT and/or TDS);
- Provide support to the directors in preparation of complex accounting strategies and/or financial statements;
- Generally assisting the administration team and the board of directors with financial, tax and general accounting queries;
- Attend to the timely completion and submission of FSC Surveys as and when they arise;
- Liaise with the Mauritius Revenue Authority for any accounting and/or tax matters including annual APS, TDS or VAT and/or (applications for) tax rulings;
- Develop and maintain a process to ensure the timely delivery of client accounting requirements in relation to financial reports and accounts for all entities in allocated portfolio;
- Attend board meetings and other client meetings to present accounts and discuss accounting related matters.
- Assistance to senior team members on daily tasks and other administrative tasks;
- Liaise with the appointed Auditors to complete the audit of financial statements in accordance with defined timetables
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- ACCA/ACA fully/partly qualified and Accounting experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS. Knowledge in other relevant accounting frameworks such as US GAAP is an advantage
- Ability to operate accounting software
- Well versed in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Professionalism and ability to win the respect of clients
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
- Flexibility to adapt to the role as the company develop
