The Business Development Director is a senior, strategic position responsible for generating new business and revenue for AcuFin Corporate Limited (“AcuFin”), working closely with the Chief Executive Officer. The role’s core objective is to identify, develop and implement business development initiatives and campaigns to introduce new clients to AcuFin and cross/up sell to our current client base.
All BD activity aligns with AcuFin’s objectives, values and policies and is compliant with all regulatory requirements. AcuFin’s BD team builds and manages relationships with HNW, UNW individuals and Family Offices as well as intermediaries and other third parties.
The successful candidate will be based in Mauritius, is a self-starter with a mature and established intermediary network as well as direct client relationships with potential new business opportunities.
Role & Key Responsibilities
- Implement the defined sales and business development strategy and promote the offerings of AcuFin Corporate Limited
- Build AcuFin’s market position to generate quality sales leads via Attendance and participation at industry events, hosted events, Thought leadership articles, press releases, client newsletters etc
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through core client portfolio and with new clients in new markets and sectors
- Track New Business Development opportunities, utilise market knowledge and market intelligence tools to identify projects which are aligned to the company strategy
- Maintain BD pipeline information, call reports, proposal templates, service / fee proposals and related financial analysis
- Attend client meetings to develop an understanding of the potential client to identify service opportunity and to assist them in managing businesses which are aligned to our services
- Liaise with clients and provide supervision relating to client onboarding forms and KYC requirements/COD, ensure regular follow up is made for timely submission and in conformity with the AML/CFT requirements
- Build strong relationships with existing or prospective corporate client and all other stakeholders with the goal to acquire them as a long term referral partners
- Support and oversee appropriate contract negotiations for Business Development and Contract Renewals
- Provide professional expertise and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to proactively address any queries or requests arising
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders including clients, compliance department or other business units and external partners, ensuring all working processes and procedures are in compliance with statutory bodies and client files are organised and complete
- Train and develop team members to continually improve their performance and ability to meet and/or exceed business needs and targets, ensuring that the required standards are being maintained.
- Build end lead an effective and cohesive team culture
- Prepare and give new business reviews to the management through timely reports
- Identify and contribute to the mitigation of risks. Report any issues to senior management in a timely manner
- Effectively complete any other ad hoc assignments, special client or internal projects as requested by the Head of Department

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Educated to degree level, with a relevant professional qualification
- At least five years’ proven business development experience in professional services
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Dynamic, committed and proactive. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Good team player, with strong customer service drive
- Highly computer literate (with knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- An understanding of the onshore and offshore administration market and services is preferred
